Saying thank-you's and goodbyes

With this final newsletter we, the NASCENT Team, want to say thank you for allowing us to learn alongside you in your clinical placements, classrooms, and schools! We hope that you have found the process to be both personally meaningful and professionally valuable to your practice. Below you will find ways you can reflect on the experience and prepare for the next transition.

Mentors + TCs: Reflect on the experience
Reflecting on and sharing what you've learned throughout the clinical experience is a great way to support both of you in identifying takeaways. Look back over the "Big Picture Trajectory" to see some of the ways TC experiences may have developed over time.

TCs: Saying goodbye to your classes

You have become an influential person in the classroom and in the lives of your students. It is important that you prepare them for when you finish your placement and are no longer in their classroom. Consider telling them your future plans, expressing your gratitude for their participation, and sharing what you learned about them and about teaching.

Trajectory Reflection Guide

1. Getting to know students and the school ecosystem

- What were some of the ways you got to know students?
- What surprises did you encounter?

2. Planning
- What were some of the successes/challenges of planning?
- How do you hope collaboration will impact planning in the future?

3. Teaching

- What are some highlights you experienced while teaching?
- In what ways did you see your teaching change throughout the experience?

4. Assessment
- What are some different ways students were able to show what they know?
- How did your understanding of assessment change?
