Learning to Teach–Trajectories:
These trajectories outline the types of opportunities mentors might provide their TCs to develop into effective teachers over the course of their field placement. TCs should also actively seek out these opportunities to improve their skills and confidence as novice teachers.
We group these opportunities into five time segments, from the start of the clinical experience to the end. We also have trajectories that show how one type of opportunity, such as learning to plan, might change over several months.
These trajectories are based on feedback from over 100 teacher candidates whose field placement experiences we studied.
